Syntheses, crystal structures, spectral and DFT studies of copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes with N′-(pyridine-2-ylmethylene)acetohydrazide

Two mononuclear complexes (1 and 2) and one binuclear complex 3 have been synthesized. Complex 3 shows antiferromagnetic behaviour. All complexes were structurally characterized using single crystal X-ray diffraction technique. Reduction process involves an identical number of electron (s) as revealed from different pulse voltammetry (DPV) experimental. The electronic and spectral features of the complexes have been discussed by DFT and TD-DFT calculations.203
