Synthesis and structure of 1,3-dimethyl-5-(p-sulfonamide-phenylazo)-6-aminouracil and its Ni(II) complex: Topological insights and investigation for noncovalent interactions

Crystal structures of the ligand (HL) and the complex (NiIIL2) with topological H-bonded networks have been explored. DFT study shows noncovalent antiparallel π−-π+ stacking interactions with self-assembled H-bonded dimers in HL, whereas the complex (NiIIL2) possesses supramolecular 1-D polymeric chain through lp-π and CH/π noncovalent interactions.299
