Compositional differences of chromophoric dissolved organic matter derived from phytoplankton and macrophytes

► We examined the composition differences of CDOM produced from phytoplankton and macrophytes. ► a(350) Production rate was 0.0125 m2/g and 2.708 × 10−4 m2/g for CDOM from phytoplankton and macrophytes. ► Three fluorescent components were identified by PARAFAC for phytoplankton and macrophyte CDOM. ► Significant differences were found in CDOM composition parameters, EEMs and fluorescence components.
