Geochemical evidence for an Early Cambrian origin of the 'Q' oils and some condensates from north Oman

► New geochemical analyses of the Q family of oils from Oman are described. ► Q oils are likely derived from an Early Cambrian unit of the Ara Formation. ► This was likely prevalent in North Oman but missing from the South Oman Salt Basin. ► Some high maturity condensates from North Oman have Q-like geochemistry.
