Current knowledge and future research perspectives on cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) chemical defenses: An agroecological view

Chemical traits of cassava play a role in regulating herbivory, and can be exploited to improve pest management. Direct and indirect defenses can be managed to minimize the risk of toxicity to humans through cyanogenesis, thus improving sustainable production while maintaining food safety.
