Isolation and extraction of ruberythric acid from Rubia tinctorum L. and crystal structure elucidation

Ruberythric acid is extracted from madder (Rubia tinctorum L.) and characterised using a variety of techniques including 1H and 13C NMR. The first known X-ray crystal structure of ruberythric acid is presented.
