Oleanane-type saponins from Glochidion glomerulatum and their cytotoxic activities

Eight oleanane-type saponins were isolated from leaves of Glochidion glomerulatum. Compounds 3 and 5 which contain a benzoyloxy group at C-22 showed significant cytotoxic activities against the A-549, HT-29, and OVCAR cancer cell lines with IC50 values ranging from 5.9 to 9.8 μM.161
