Lathyrane-type diterpenoids from the seeds of Euphorbia lathyris

Twenty-two lathyrane-type diterpenoid derivatives (ten previously unknown) were isolated from seeds of Euphorbia lathyris, and their structures were established by extensive spectroscopic interpretation. A putative biogenetic relationship to the isolated compounds was proposed. Cytotoxic activity against cancer cell lines (C6, MCF-7, Hela and HepG2) was evaluated.
