Over-expression of JcDGAT1 from Jatropha curcas increases seed oil levels and alters oil quality in transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana

JcDGAT1 over-expression in Arabidopsis increases seed oil quantity by 30-40% and changes oil quality leading to higher levels of linolenic acid and reduced levels of oleic acid both under a constitutive and a seed specific promoter without any morphological or developmental abnormalities.
