Polyketide synthesis in tobacco plants transformed with a Plumbago zeylanica type III hexaketide synthase

Plumbago zeylanica polyketide synthase gene expressed in tobacco plants led to formation of some novel polyketides including pyrones and naphthalene derivatives in transgenic tobacco plants.
