Biosynthesis of sesquiterpenes in grape berry exocarp of Vitis vinifera L.: Evidence for a transport of farnesyl diphosphate precursors from plastids to the cytosol

The participation of the mevalonic acid pathway and the 1-deoxy-d-xylulose/2-C-methyl-d-erythritol-4-phosphate pathway in sesquiterpene biosynthesis of grapes (Vitis vinifera) was investigated by in vivo feeding experiments.
