Indole alkaloids of Psychotria as multifunctional cholinesterases and monoamine oxidases inhibitors

► Four monoterpene indole alkaloids (1-4) inhibited BChE and MAO-A by different mechanisms. ► Two quaternary-β-carboline alkaloids (12,13) inhibited AChE, BChE and MAO-A. ► Docking studies were carried out in order to understand the interactions of the active compounds with AChE, BChE and MAO-A.
