Flavanocoumarins from Guazuma ulmifolia bark and evaluation of their affinity for STAT1

► Flavanocoumarins (2-3) related to epiphyllocoumarin (1) have been isolated from Guazuma ulmifolia bark. ► Compounds 1-2 showed affinity for STAT1, evaluated by Surface Plasmon Resonance, comparable to that exerted by EGCG. ► Their affinity was confirmed by molecular docking studies. ► Flavanocoumarins 1-2 inhibited STAT1-DNA binding.
