Fungal sensitivity to and enzymatic deglycosylation of ginsenosides

► PPT-type ginsenosides from Chinese ginseng inhibited growth of all six test fungi. ► PPD-type ginsenosides promoted growth of the ginseng pathogen Cylindrocarpon destructans. ► C. destructans can enzymatically degrade PPD-type ginsenosides.
