Identification and properties of insect resistance-associated maize anionic peroxidases

Expression of a maize root anionic peroxidase Px11 was associated with insect resistance. Alleles of the gene coding for this peroxidase had different sequences and abilities to oxidize ferulic vs. p-coumaric acid.
