Comparative characterization of the Arabidopsis subfamily a1 β-galactosidases

Characterization of the Arabidopsis subfamily a1 β-galactosidases was extended to include all six members. The results suggest that, despite differences in individual biochemical characteristics and expression patterns, each has the potential to contribute to the dynamics of the Arabidopsis plant cell wall.
