Cytotoxic dihydrobenzophenanthridine alkaloids from the roots of Macleaya microcarpa

Dihydrobenzophenanthridine alkaloids (1-5), together with 11 related compounds, were isolated from Macleaya microcarpa. Cytotoxicity of these compounds against five human tumor cell-lines was evaluated.
