Cytokinin receptor antagonists derived from 6-benzylaminopurine

Substituted BAP derivatives were synthesized and tested for their ability to interact with Arabidopsis cytokinin receptors and in classical cytokinin biotests. 6-(2,5-Dihydroxybenzylamino)purine (LGR-991) was identified as a cytokinin receptor antagonist with a broader specificity and reduced agonistic properties.
