Biotransformation of 20(S)-protopanaxatriol by Aspergillus niger and the cytotoxicity of the resulting metabolites

- Thirteen transformed products of 20(S)-protopanaxatriol were obtained and identified.
- Biotransformed reactions were involved in dehydrogenation, hydroxylation, and cyclization.
- Some novel metabolites showed potent anti-cancer activities.
