Two tetrahydroisoquinoline alkaloids from the fruit of Averrhoa carambola

- Six compounds including two new alkaloids were isolated from star fruit in China.
- It is the first report of all the compounds except for ferulic acid from this species.
- Two alkaloids and 8,9,10-trihydroxythymol showed weak antioxidant activity.
