Alkaloids from the stem bark of Strychnos icaja

► In this study we carried out a comprehensive phytochemical study on the stem bark of Strychnos icaja Bail. ► We isolated two new alkaloids and one alkaloid described for the first time as a natural compound. ► We also isolated a new hemisynthetic compound and thirteen known alkaloids. ► Some isolated compounds were tested against the 3D7 strain of Plasmodium falciparum.
