Silica sulfuric acid promoted the one-pot synthesis of trisubstituted imidazoles under conventional heating conditions or using microwave irradiation

Trisubstituted imidazoles have been synthesized in high yields in the presence of silica sulfuric acid as an inexpensive solid acid catalyst under solvent-free classical heating conditions or using microwave irradiation. The silica sulfuric acid can be recovered for the subsequent reactions and reused without any appreciable loss of efficiency.
