Morphological analysis and cell viability on diamond-like carbon films containing nanocrystalline diamond particles

► The increasing concentration of NCD nanoparticles enhanced DLC mitochondrial activity. ► Very good adhesion and good spreading of the fibroblasts on the DLC and NCD-DLC coatings was verified. ► The increasing concentration of NCD nanoparticles in DLC films decreases the LDH activity on these samples and shown the integrity of plasma membrane.
