Density functional studies of magic clusters Ga13M(MÂ =Â Li, Na, K, and Rb)

There is very little charge density overlap between Na and the Ga13 cage. Moreover, there exists electron transference between M and Ga atoms known from the natural bonding orbital charge analyses. This means the Ga-M bonds have the ionic properties.
