Theoretical study of the reaction mechanism of Mycobacterium tuberculosis type II dehydroquinate dehydratase

► The reaction mechanism of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis type II DHQD was studied. ► It undergoes a two-step E1cB trans-elimination with an enolate intermediate. ► This mechanism can reasonably explain the experimental phenomena.
