Ab initio study of band strengths for the F2Σ+-A2Πelectronic transition of AlO

► We presented ab initio band strengths for 56 bands in the F2Σ+-A2Π transition of AlO. ► Band strength for 0-0 the only band observed is the largest of the calculated bands. ► Band strengths for unobserved 19 bands are of the same order of magnitude as the 0-0. ► We evaluated Einstein A coefficients and discussed a condition for detecting a band. ► We estimated the ratios of populations producing bands not less intense than the 0-0.
