Dielectric description of the angular dependence of the loss structure in core level photoemission

► We model the loss structure of Cu 2p and Fe 2p XPS emission from pure Cu and Fe. ► We use semi-classical dielectric description of the electron energy losses. ► The dependence of surface loss structures with emission angle is well reproduced.
