Cryogenic PEEM at the Advanced Light Source

► We describe the detailed design of a liquid helium cooled X-PEEM. ► We investigate the effects on the performance of the microsope due to the cooling mechanism. ► 25 K imaging is achieved after 30 min with good performance at 50 nm resolution. ► Two recent scientific highlights utilizing the cryogenic capabilities are summarized.
