Synthesis, characterization and mechanoluminescence of europium doped ZnxBa(1−x)Al2O4 (x=0, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0) phosphor

The samples of ZnxBa(1−x)Al2O4:0.1%Eu (x=0, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0) were prepared via high temperature solid state reaction method. The phase formation of the powder samples were confirmed by taking X-ray diffraction analysis. The mechanoluminescence (ML) property of the samples by impact method was studied by using ML measuring apparatus. The variations in the ML peak intensity due to the impact velocity of a load falling from different heights and due to the variation of composition were investigated. The photoluminescence studies of the samples were also conducted.
