A novel design of integrated microfluidic thermal system (MTS) with electromagnetic control used to temperature control is presented. Here, the magnetic-based microfluid (MMF) used for the auxiliary refrigerant is prepared from fine ferromagnetic particles of iron ferrite by chemical co-precipitation technique. Besides, a disk-shaped porous wick with high thermal conductivity and capillary characteristics is used in evaporator. Compared with charging DI water, the MTS with MMF-charged cooling chamber always shows better performances and achieves a maximum enhancement of 25% at 50 W. Accordingly, thermal energy management based on microfluidic control can be extended to various high power electronics for application.
