Concentration quenching of the green photoluminescence from terbium ions embedded in AlN and SiC matrices

► Terbium luminescence from crystalline AlN and amorphous SiC is analogous. ► At low dopant concentrations the intensity increases with concentration. ► At high concentrations the intensity decreases drastically with concentration. ► This quenching is independent of both structure and chemical nature of the matrix.
