Emission properties of Sm3+/Bi3+-doped YPO4 phosphors

► YPO4:Sm3+(2%), Bi3+(x%) phosphors have been synthesized and characterized. ► The luminescence properties have been investigated as a function of the Bi3+ content. ► The presence of Bi3+ induces an increment of the Sm3+ emission performance.
