Photoluminescence properties of M2Mg(BO3)2:Sm3+ (M:Sr and Ba)

► It has synthesized two novel inorganic borate phosphors for the first time. ► The synthesized materials were characterized by using the powder X Ray Diffraction. ► The photoluminescence properties of both phosphors were investigated using a spectrofluorometer. ► Both Sr2Mg(BO3)2: Sm3+ and Ba2Mg(BO3)2: Sm3+ phosphors emit a strong in orange-red region.
