A simple synthesis method for Zn2SiO4:Mn2+ phosphor films and their optical and luminescence properties

► Highly oriented Zn2SiO4:Mn2+ phosphor films were grown on quartz substrate using a simple method. ► The luminescence and optical properties of Zn2SiO4:Mn2+ phosphor films were studied. ► Zn2SiO4:Mn2+ phosphor films show superior brightness with excellent transparency. ► This can be explained by explained morphology of interface and unique crystal structure. ► We report a simple synthesis method of phosphor films and their physical properties.
