Fluorine effects on Sr1.7Mg0.3SiO4:0.01Eu2+, 0.08Mn2+ phosphors for white light-emitting diodes

► Three emissions (455, 550, 670 nm) are observed in Sr1.7Mg0.3SiO4−xFx:Eu2+, Mn2+ phosphors. ► The emission intensities increase in small amount of F− anion doped phosphor. ► The colorimetric parameters of F− doped phosphors are superior to those of YAG: Ce3+ phosphor.
