OSL, RL and TL characterization of rare-earth ion doped K2YF5: Application in dosimetry

► The OSL properties of rare-earth doped K2YF5 fluorides have been investigated for the first time. ► K2YF5:1 at.% Tb3+ has been found to be the most efficient OSL detector. ► This fluoride presents an efficiency similar to that of Al2O3:C and linear response over a large dose range. ► No OSL fading is observed if irradiated samples are preheated at 80 °C. ► The feasibility of using this material in radiation dosimetry is demonstrated.
