A potential red emitting K4Ca(PO4)2: Eu3+ phosphor for white light emitting diodes

► The red luminescent K4Ca(PO4)2:Eu3+ phosphors were prepared. ► The orthophosphates in the sample was confirmed by FTIR analysis. ► The size of the prepared phosphors particles are in micrometer dimension. ► The obtained longest lifetime value for K4Ca(PO4)2:Eu3+ (6 mol%) is 1.982 ms.
