Optical properties of Ce3+ doped ABO3 perovskites (A=La, Gd, Y and B=Al, Ga, Sc)

► Nanocrystallite ABO3 (where A=La, Gd, Y and B=Al, Ga, Sc) perovskites were synthesized. ► Spectroscopic properties of Ce3+ in ABO3 (where A=La, Gd, Y and B=Al, Ga, Sc) were determined. ► Centroid shift in function of average distance between Ce3+ and ligands was found. ► Crystal field splitting of Ce3+ levels in ABO3 (where A=La, Gd, Y and B=Al, Ga, Sc) was found.
