Coherent phonon generation in semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes using a few-cycle pulse laser

► We investigated coherent phonon dynamics in single-walled carbon nanotubes by 7.1-fs laser. ► Vibrational wave-packets corresponding to the RBM and G mode can be detected. ► Resonance conditions and mode frequencies lead to exact chirality assignments. ► Both real and imaginary parts of the third order susceptibility contribute to the result.
