Stimulated emission from optically excited CdxHg1−xTe structures at room temperature

► CdxHg1−xTe structures are investigated for receiving a stimulated emission. ► The stimulated emission has been observed experimentally under optical pumping. ► The emission has been observed up to 2.5 μm wavelength at room temperature. ► The measured values of the gain in the active medium are very high.
