Thermoluminescence kinetics of lithium borate crystals

► We measured TL, spectra and temperature behavior of XRL for Li2B4O7 and LiB3O5 crystals. ► We carried out modeling of recombination processes with enhanced parameterization. ► Complex TL peak at 100-130 K is due to a system of two competing trapped hole centers. ► This system provides the observed 'buildup' in the luminescence decay kinetics in LBO. ► TL glow peak at 180 K in LBO is due to delocalization of electron from B2+ centers.
