Conversion of ultraviolet and infrared to visible light in Er3+ and Dy3+ co-doped CsGd2F7

► Emissions of CsGd2F7:Er3+, Dy3+ are reliably designated by energy and decay kinetics analysis. ► Quantum cutting downconversion is observed under VUV excitation. ► Chromaticity coordinates of emission spectra are very close to those of white-light emission. ► Upconverted pure green emission is obtained under 980 nm.
