Synthesis and photoluminescence investigations of the white light emitting phosphor, vanadate garnet, Ca2NaMg2V3O12 co-doped with Dy and Sm

► Vanadate garnet host Ca2NaMg2V3O12 doped with Dy and Sm as a white light emitting phosphor. ► Energy transfer from the host to the dopant RE ions without any cross transfer between the RE ions. ► CIE indices for the system close to that of achromatic point when excited at 300 nm.
