X-ray excited optical luminescence of Ce-doped BaAl2O4

► Proteic sol-gel enables to produce pure and doped BaAl2O4. ► We examine the spectral dependence of the radioluminescence at different excitations. ► A schematic representation of the XEOL emission of the BaAl2O4:Ce. ► Typical value of decay to the Ce3+ ions is reported around 44.3 ns.
