Preparation and photoluminescence properties of the Sr1.56Ba0.4SiO4:0.04Eu2+ phosphor

► The Sr1.56Ba0.4SiO4:0.04Eu2+ phosphors are prepared via a combustion reaction and following calcination at low temperature. ► SrCl2 flux can improve the crystallinity and PL properties of the phosphors. ► This methodology is promising for the preparation of other silicate phosphors.
