Soret and Dufour effects in MHD peristalsis of pseudoplastic nanofluid with chemical reaction

Soret and Dufour effects on the peristaltic flow of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) pseudoplastic nanofluid in a tapered asymmetric channel have been analyzed in this article. Effects of first order chemical reaction, Brownian motion and thermophoresis are also considered. Mathematical modeling comprising the momentum, energy and nanoparticle volume fraction equations has been presented and simplified through long wavelength and low Reynolds number concepts. The resulting non-linear system has been computed for series solutions of stream function, velocity, temperature and concentration. Heat transfer coefficient, pumping and trapping are further examined. Influences of various emerging parameters have been studied graphically. It is found that Soret and Dufour numbers have opposite effects on the volume fraction and temperature. Temperature development is noticed towards increasing values of Dufour number and Brownian motion parameter.
