Surface study of binary mixtures containing chlorinated and oxygenated compounds

► Surface tensions of mixtures of chlorinated and oxygenated compounds were studied. ► The chlorinated compounds were the four isomeric chlorobutanes. ► The oxygenated compounds were butyl ethyl ether and diisopropyl ether. ► Excess surface compositions of ether in the mixture were calculated. ► The surface tensions were satisfactorily predicted using a group contribution method.
