Competitive 7Li NMR study of complexation of different metal ions with tetraethyleneglycol-bis(8-quinolyl) ether in acetonitrile-dimethylsulfoxide and nitromethane-dimethylsulfoxide binary mixtures

► Study of Li+-L complex (L = tetraethyleneglycol-bis(8-quinolyl) ether) by 7Li NMR. ► Use of competitive 7Li NMR spectroscopy for complexation of other metal ions with L. ► Study of solvent effect on the stability of the resulting 1:1 Mn+-L complexes. ► Stability order: Ag+ > Pb2+ > Na+ > Cd2+ > Zn2+ > Li+ > Ca2+ > UO22+> Mg2+.
