Synthesis and characterization of dispersions of ZnCrO4 prepared in AOT stabilized water/heptane microemulsion

► Zinc chromate dispersion was prepared in water/AOT/n-heptane microemulsion. ► Particles were characterized through XRD, EDS, FTIR and UV-Vis spectra. ► Size was determined with DLS and TEM measurements. ► Enthalpy of formation of the colloidal dispersions was measured calorimetrically. ► Properties of the dispersions were correlated with the size and precursor concentration.
