Equivalence of the three empirical potential energy models for diatomic molecules

► We find that the Manning-Rosen, Schiöberg and Deng-Fan potentials are equivalent. ► Manning-Rosen, Schiöberg and Deng-Fan potentials are not better than the Morse potential. ► The limit of the Manning-Rosen is Kratzer-Fues potential.
